Chapter 35 Trying to escape? Too late!
Chapter 35 Trying to escape? Too late!
The flying swords and arrows shot out rapidly, each aiming at one of the same goblin's eyes. This was something Lin'er and Flora had planned beforehand: to use all their strength to defeat one goblin first.
The bear goblin had no time to react, still devouring the roasted meat. It wasn't until the flying sword was within three meters that it finally realized what was happening.
It was about to do something, but it was too late.
With two soft thuds, the flying sword slashed and stabbed, striking the bear goblin's eyes, causing green blood to splatter everywhere.
The goblin's bright green eyes were instantly turned into a bloody mess.
At the same time, an arrow flew over and struck the goblin in the other eye. The arrowhead went in about two inches deep, and green blood flowed out from the shaft.
The bear goblin let out an extremely painful howl, clutching its eyes and writhing in agony, completely incapacitated.
Seeing the miserable state of its kind, another bear goblin quickly dropped the roasted meat and grabbed a large wooden stick from beside the campfire.
The enormous wooden stick was two meters long and very thick, and it was stained with dried blood.
The goblin bear quickly spotted Lin'er and Flora, and, enraged, charged at them, carrying a wooden club.
As it charged, it seemed to be summoning something. In the blink of an eye, its torso and limbs were covered by a layer of earth armor, and even its head was covered by an earth armor helmet, leaving only two small holes.
Lin Er couldn't help but marvel; this was truly fully armed, with only a tiny weakness remaining.
By this time, the surviving goblin was on guard, making it much harder to attack its weak points.
As expected, Flora fired another arrow at the charging bear goblin. It reacted quickly, immediately raising its arm to protect its face.
With a clang, sparks flew as the arrow pierced the earth armor on the bear goblin's arm, but not very deeply, causing little damage.
Seeing this, Lin Er retracted his flying sword and quickly said, "Let's go first."
He didn't linger in the fight any longer and turned to retreat with Flora.
This bear goblin looked fat and clumsy, and its speed wasn't slow, but because it was covered in a thick layer of earth armor, its speed was obviously slowed down.
Lin Er glanced back and saw that it was extremely angry, but dared not remove its earth armor. In its anger, it swung a wooden stick and smashed down the bushes next to it.
Seeing that the goblin was not chasing, Lin Er summoned his flying sword to slash at it, while Flora beside him also shot arrows at it.
The bear goblin was forced to raise his arms and quickly cover his face.
A little while later.
The bear goblin's arm was slashed more than twenty times, each slash leaving a sword mark, and much of the earth armor on his arm was torn off due to the attacks.
Flora also shot the goblin with more than a dozen arrows, most of which landed on its upper body and arms, turning it into a hedgehog.
The goblin bear kept howling, but showed no intention of running away.
Lin Er sensed something was wrong. Although they had made the bear goblin look quite disheveled, they hadn't inflicted any fatal wounds.
However, if this continues, there is still a good chance that it will be worn down.
Lin Er felt that some of the risks were worthwhile, so he continued his attack, but also warned Flora to be careful.
After slashing the bear goblin a dozen more times, he saw the flesh and blood exposed on the bear goblin's arm and was about to stab it again.
Suddenly, Flora shouted, "Oh no! Goblins are surrounding us!"
Lin Er immediately stopped attacking and turned around to see a dozen goblins hiding behind the bushes, sneaking up on him.
This goblin was deliberately stalling for time here; its previous howls were a call for its minions.
Lin Er noticed that more than half of the goblins were Tier 1, so he didn't dare to be careless and quickly led Flora away.
Fortunately, he had taken precautions and escaped before the goblins could form an encirclement.
As Lin Er ran, he looked back. The goblins were much faster than the bear goblins. They seemed to be very good at hunting. They scattered and surrounded him a second time.
Lin'er and Flora weren't afraid of the goblins, but the bear goblin was still chasing them. Relying on its underlings, it had actually removed its earth armor and increased its speed.
However, Lin Er and Flora were still a step ahead, but they couldn't shake them off for the time being.
Lin Er frowned. This Misty Forest was extremely dangerous. If the goblin bear led by the goblins kept chasing them, they might accidentally end up in the territory of other monsters.
It would be dangerous if he encountered that deer-headed demon again. Once bitten, twice shy, he dared not gamble that he would not encounter the deer-headed demon.
In a moment of inspiration, Lin Er asked Flora, "Flora, can you communicate with the goblin bear?"
Flora replied, "It should understand natural language, but we have killed its own kind, and reconciliation is no longer possible."
Lin Er shook his head and said, "Tell it that our companion has already reached up to steal its dragon blood."
Flora did not hesitate and immediately repeated Lin Er's words to the bear goblin.
Upon hearing this, the bear goblin's expression changed drastically. Regardless of whether it was true or false, he immediately stopped and ran back.
The goblins, having lost their leader, refused to let go of their prey and continued their pursuit.
Lin Er and Flora stopped abruptly, staring at the goblin with murderous intent.
The goblin was behind us, you can chase after him, I won't hold it against you.
Now that the goblin has run away, you're still chasing after him? The goblin's escape was for nothing.
They were perfectly in sync; after exchanging a glance, they pointed, and the flying sword and arrow flew out simultaneously.
next second.
Four goblins immediately fell into pools of blood.
Lin Er wielded his flying sword and slashed at the nearest goblin.
A white sword light fell, and a goblin was cut in half.
Lin Erke had no sympathy for these ugly and ferocious monsters and went on a killing spree.
Two breaths passed.
Nearly ten goblin corpses fell to the ground instantly.
The surviving goblins looked terrified, completely bewildered as to why a sword was flying around, slaughtering its own kind.
They cried out in terror and scattered in all directions.
Lin Er said, "Trying to escape? Too late!"
His flying sword can now attack at a range of 60 meters, and its speed is much faster than a goblin's legs, allowing it to move nimbly through the forest like a dragon.
In the blink of an eye, not a single goblin remained alive.
Lin Er sheathed his Moonlight Sword, the blade still stained with the goblin's green blood. Now, the blood slid down the blade, leaving not a single drop behind.
As expected of a high-grade magic weapon, it is extremely sharp and does not leave a drop of blood on it.
Flora couldn't help but say, "Although I've seen it before, I still have to say, your manipulation of objects is truly terrifying. Is this really a low-level spell?"
She was somewhat alarmed and also noticed that Lin'er's attack range had increased. Although the power hadn't increased much, it was incredibly agile.
Among first-tier peak adventurers, there are probably very few who can defeat Lin Er, and that doesn't even include those who can be ambushed.
Lin Er laughed and said, "Of course it's a low-level spell, it just has a higher ceiling. I'm only a beginner when it comes to this spell."
If this were the world of cultivation, his flying sword technique, which he had only practiced for less than a month, would probably seem very rudimentary to his fellow disciples who had been immersed in it for decades.
Flora shook her head and said, "Lin'er, if you're just a beginner, there probably won't be any masters left. Being overly modest isn't a good thing."
Lin Er sighed helplessly; he really wasn't being modest.
