Chapter 460: The Gods are Interfering
Chapter 460: The Gods are Interfering
However, the day Emma arrived at the Garrison, the entire place was thrown upside down, And this was still with her veil over her face.
Hunter had returned without her, as Chiron had given her further assignments.
By now, it was common knowledge that Chiron’s slaves although being slaves, were very well respected by the men under him.
No one looked down on any of them.
However, When Emma arrived, the men under Chiron could be seen finding places to hide. Her presence sent a shiver down their spines.
Those, like the nobles and the garrison soldiers that did not know about her found themselves staring intently.
Naturally, they were noble men even willing to crawl on the ground to have her the moment they realized how intently beautiful she was, coupled with her flawless skin and figure, she was an attraction like no other, like a proud beautiful peacock in the midst of dirty pigs.
"I... I have fallen in love with you. And I am even willing to fight the prince to break your slave status. Such a goddess like you deserves a man that will worship you day and night." One young noble boy declared, stopping her, as she took her walk.
Chiron’s men that saw this sight could not help but shake their heads in secret. Many of them even prayed for the ignorance for the young lad in secret.@@@@
After all, those that knew Emma, knew what she was and what she was capable of.
Emma licked her luscious lips, "hmmm! An early snack it would seem."
The forest lay silent under the twin moons, both half-full and casting a silvery glow over the frozen wasteland.
The night was eerily calm, with the cold air whispering through the barren branches. Amidst the quiet desolation, Nora’s charred and lifeless body lay, a tragic remnant of the battle with the icy dragon.
Suddenly, a faint luminescence began to emanate from a scar on her body. The light grew brighter, pulsating with a rhythmic beat, until it formed into a glowing time wheel hovering just above her. The wheel spun slowly at first, then faster, radiating a soft golden hue that contrasted with the cold blue of the night.
The time wheel continued to spin, and with each rotation, the air around Nora shimmered. It was as if the very fabric of time was being manipulated, reversing its course. The chunks of her burnt flesh, scattered around the forest floor, started to vibrate and then moved. They floated through the air, converging back towards her body.
As the wheel spun faster, the process accelerated. Her charred skin began to smooth out, the burnt edges receding and revealing fresh, unblemished flesh underneath. The deep cuts and wounds healed, closing up as if they had never been there. Her body, once a broken shell, was being restored to its former state.
The forest watched in silent awe as Nora’s resurrection unfolded. The silver light from the twin moons seemed to focus on her, as if bearing witness to the miracle. The time wheel spun at an incredible speed now, the glow so intense that it bathed the surrounding trees in a warm, golden light.
Finally, the last piece of her fragmented body settled into place. The burns and cuts were gone, replaced by smooth, healthy skin. The time wheel slowed its spinning, the light gradually dimming until it was a mere flicker, and then it vanished, absorbed back into the scar on her body. However, the time will looked broken and less attractive than before.
Nora lay still for a moment, the night air holding its breath. Then, with a soft gasp, her eyes fluttered open. She drew in a deep breath, her chest rising and falling as life returned to her. Her eyes, wide with confusion and wonder, reflected the twin moons above, their light shimmering in her gaze.
She slowly sat up, her movements tentative as if testing her newfound vitality. The forest around her remained quiet, as if honoring her rebirth. She looked at her hands, her arms, her body, and saw no trace of the burns and wounds that had once marred her flesh. She was whole again, every trace of the battle with the icy dragon erased.
It was at this moment that Nora remembered her meeting with the Bear mother. Back then, in that Trance, she had told her.
"You will die, and it will be by your brother’s hands."
