Chapter 90 Magical Owl, Nimbus 2025
Lin Wei's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he smiled and hurried out. His senior sister, Dora, truly loved baking; these past few days she had been creating all sorts of different pastries for Lin Wei to taste—nearly a hundred varieties. It had broadened his horizons, giving him his first glimpse into the creative spirit of wizards.
Most of the pastries were quite delicious, though a few were terribly unpalatable. Lin Wei ate them without flinching, earning him a lot of favor from Senior Sister Dora. Each time he ate, he would frown slightly, but he would still force himself to swallow them.
Lin Wei could tell that this senior sister had little contact with outsiders, making her easy to deal with. Dora always had an innocent and carefree expression, as if she had never been tainted by the world.
While eating, Lin Wei asked, "By the way, Senior Sister, after entering the Wizarding World, is there still a chance to return to the Human Continent? Logically speaking, the Human Continent is just another plane." His mouth was full of food, so his speech was a little unclear.
"Sure, but the human world is a bit special. Going back would cost a fortune. We'd need to go through a special passage in Thousand Machine City in the center of the Endless Sea. I've seen the prices before, and I certainly can't afford it. I'm afraid only a formal wizard would be willing to spend the resources for this passage." Dora paused, tilted her head, and thought for a moment. "Junior brother, you don't actually want to go back to the human world, do you? I'm a native of the wizarding world and haven't traveled far from home much." Her eyes were filled with doubt.
"I'm not planning to go back for now. I'm just asking because I might need to retrieve some things later," Lin Wei said with a smile, wiping the crumbs from the corner of his mouth.
"In that case, we can send a messenger owl back to retrieve it. We have a special owl hut in our Turing Tower, but it's quite expensive," Dora said, her eyes revealing a seriousness.
"That's great, that'll be enough for us." Lin Wei laughed, his eyes sparkling with joy. "By the way, Senior Sister, you're now a Level One Wizard Apprentice, so how old are you?"
Lin Wei had been pondering this question for days. Some wizards didn't like being asked about their age, as it was a matter of personal privacy. But Lin Wei wanted to know the ages and training periods of the other wizard apprentices so he could make a general judgment. As he spoke, he scratched his head.
"I'm a few years older than you. I'm forty-five this year. I was a level three wizard apprentice when I was fifteen, a level two wizard apprentice when I was twenty-eight, and a few years ago I reached the level of a level one wizard apprentice. I'm considered one of the most promising wizard apprentices to break through to the first ring wizard level in Turing Tower," Dora said earnestly, with pride on her face. As a clever witch, she immediately guessed the purpose of Lin Wei's question.
"That's truly outstanding. I'm not even a third-level wizard apprentice yet," Lin Wei said with a wry smile, his face showing helplessness. "So, what's the success rate of wizard apprentices breaking through to become full wizards?"
"It's roughly fifty to one. Only one out of fifty first-level wizarding apprentices can become a full-fledged wizard. This is an ironclad rule in the wizarding world. No matter how excellent the wizarding organization is, it can't increase this ratio much further," Doraemon explained, her eyes revealing a seriousness.
"That's really difficult. After all, reaching the level of a first-level wizard apprentice is already extraordinary," Lin Wei said slowly, his brows slightly furrowed and his expression solemn.
"Junior brother, you'd better keep going. Breaking through as a hybrid cultivator of the five elements will only be more difficult, especially in terms of tempering your mental strength. You're also the first new member I've gone out to guide, so you have to live up to my expectations!" Dora encouraged, gently patting Lin Wei's shoulder with her eyes full of anticipation.
"No problem." Lin Wei nodded, his face showing a determined expression.
A few days later, the small boat, which had been sailing steadily, gradually slowed down, its hull began to rock slightly, and it started to approach the shore.
Lin Wei and Dora stood on the deck. Lin Wei looked at the land that stretched as far as the eye could see, flat like a giant green carpet, and felt a surge of excitement. His hands clenched unconsciously, and his eyes were fixed on the horizon. At the edge of the land, a spire could be faintly seen, like a sharp sword piercing the clouds.
"That's the land occupied by our Turing Tower. Although it's called a tower, it's actually over a hundred meters tall. It was built by the first tower master," Dora introduced, tilting her head slightly with pride on her face.
How many meters high?
Lin Wei's eyes widened, his mouth slightly agape, looking utterly astonished.
"Let's go, junior brother. Do you have a magic broom? We're still quite a distance from headquarters. I can let you ride with me." Dora changed into her robes, deftly pulled out a broom that was spewing flames, sat gracefully at the front, patted the broom, and gestured for Lin Wei to follow.
"It's alright, I have the Knight's Breathing Technique form." Lin Wei smiled, his feet slightly apart, his body leaning forward, directly applying the Seagull Breathing Technique to his body, transforming into a seagull more than five meters long, gently flapping his wings, floating in the air, the flapping of his wings bringing a breeze.
"Haha, I almost forgot, the knight's breathing technique is quite amazing. You should be the first knight in our Turing Tower." Dora looked at Lin Wei's form, her eyes lit up, and she said happily, "Let's go, let's go home."
The two of them, one after the other, transformed into two arcs of light and flew towards the center of the land. The sea breeze howled, ruffling their hair.
"Junior Brother Lin Wei, your knight form is really fast. I've already turned the power of the magic broom to the maximum. This is Nimbus 2025, the latest model this year." The surrounding scenery kept receding, and Dora's full head of golden hair was fluttering in the wind. Her robes were blown up, revealing her beautiful figure. As she spoke, she pressed down her robes that were being blown up with her hand.
"I'm almost at my limit too." Lin Wei followed closely, memorizing the route as he flew. A few beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. "This looks like a large island, probably several kingdoms in size. And the closer we get to Turing Tower, the more concentrated the water element factors become. No wonder it's a marine-based wizarding organization."
"Senior sister, how many wizard apprentices do we have in our Turing Tower? Are there any other wizarding organizations nearby?" Lin Wei asked, turning his head slightly to look at Doraemon.
"There are over a hundred wizard apprentices studying on the island, but our organization isn't that big. There are all sorts of wizarding organizations in the vicinity, including Robert, the second-ring tower master. Our Turing Tower is considered above average. The strongest wizarding organization nearby is the Sea Knights, a third-ring wizarding organization that overshadows us," Doraemon explained, turning her head with a hint of worry in her eyes.
The Ship of the Sea Knight?
Lin Wei had heard of this organization before; it was the organization he was originally supposed to join. However, it seemed that this organization had many problems, with black wizards appearing around. He didn't expect it to be near the Turing Tower. He frowned slightly.
