Chapter 33 Practice Room
Chapter 33 Practice Room
It was more than two years later when I saw Shin Yuna again.
Since she came to JYP as a trainee, my contact with her has been limited to our phones.
There's no way around it, Lee Won is always very busy whenever he comes to Korea. It's either this group's comeback or that group's comeback, he's so busy he barely has time to breathe.
This is why he can earn so much money—he handles almost everything from songs and dances to recording and mixing, and sometimes he even participates in the planning of concepts.
Every penny is earned through time and effort.
When he went to the KBS Song Festival, he never expected to run into Shin Yuna and her sister there.
To be precise, it was when he came out of the restroom that he bumped into Shin Yoo-na, who had just come out of the women's restroom.
He then remembered that Shin Yoo-na would be at the grand festival that year.
Unfortunately, I don't know which talent scout's "business" I stole, I'm really sorry.
"So, Oppa, is this some kind of wonderful fate?" Shin Yuna asked with a smile, looking at the man across from her who had just come out of the restroom.
"How can it not count?" Li Yuan shrugged.
Shin Yuna is the one who always refreshes the toilet, right? What a strange setting that is.
"Oppa hasn't seen me in the last two years." Shin Yuna pouted, unconsciously taking a few steps towards the corridor, her tone carrying a hint of coquettish complaint.
"I can't help it, I'm busy." Li Yuan smiled apologetically.
Why did I have this feeling of "giving birth but not raising"? Li Yuan thought to himself as he looked at the graceful young woman in front of him.
The little girl I "found" at the toilet entrance two years ago has now grown into a young woman, and all I seem to have done besides leading her into the world of JYP is nothing.
"It's alright, anyway, I've met quite a few people here!" Shin Yuna raised her chin with a touch of pride, her ponytail swaying slightly. "Lychee unnie, Park Jin unnie, and Hae Won unnie, they're all very willing to hang out with me."
She never called Wu Haiyuan, who was the same age but a few months older than her, "unnie," always calling her "Haewon-nie."
What Shin Yuna didn't say was that during Lee Won's two years in South Korea, she had seen him from afar at the company more than once.
Seeing how busy he was every day, she couldn't bear to bother him—he was already busy enough, and it was really not good for him to have to take time out of his schedule to deal with her.
It was from this incident that Shin Yuna decided to become a source of joy and bring happiness to everyone.
"Including Oppa..." she murmured, looking at Lee Won.
"What are you muttering about again?" Li Yuan turned around and glanced at her.
"It's nothing!" Shin Yuna tossed her ponytail. "I was talking about Oppa Pabu!"
"I was going to tell you some good news, but I'll pass now," Li Yuan said with a regretful expression. "Sigh, what a pity to miss such good news."
"What? What?!" Shen Youna was so curious when she heard Li Yuan say that that she jumped onto his back and wrapped her arms around his neck from behind. "Tell me, tell me!"
"Aren't you afraid I won't catch you?" Li Yuan smiled and put his arm around her, his hands firmly supporting her knees.
"So what's the good news?"
"You're going to debut." Lee Won's words made Shin Yuna, who had been swaying on his back, stiffen.
"Debut group?" Her voice sharpened with surprise. "Debut...does that mean debut?"
Her voice suddenly lowered, as if she were talking about some unspeakable secret.
"Yes, it's pretty much confirmed." Li Yuan carried her forward, their footsteps echoing softly in the corridor.
When she reached the door of a practice room, Shin Yuna realized what was happening and jumped down shyly.
Although she was enjoying the moment, she couldn't let Li Yuan carry her into the practice room.
Li Yuan knocked on the door and pushed it open to enter the practice room.
The music in the practice room stopped the moment the door was knocked on, and everyone's eyes immediately fell on Li Yuan as he opened the door.
"It's Oppa!" In the crowd, Lily gently nudged Oh Hae-won's shoulder, her voice filled with undisguised joy.
"I know, it's not like we haven't met before." Wu Haiyuan pouted, her tone indifferent. "So, are you going to give him a hug?"
Despite saying that, the excitement in her eyes was hard to hide.
"Ani!" Lily's face flushed slightly, and her gaze drifted elsewhere. "It's just that I've missed her a little after not seeing her for so long."
Hugging is so bold, especially if she's the only one in the practice room...
She shook her head vigorously, trying to shake off all the jumbled thoughts in her mind.
"Hwang Ye-ji, Choi Ji-soo, Shin Ryu-jin, and Lee Chae-jin, come out. The rest of you, continue practicing." Lee Won didn't say much, just called out a few names before leaving the practice room.
It's August now, and most of the people in the practice room are dressed quite lightly. Their long, slender legs and fair arms flashed in Li Yuan's eyes.
Those who had just arrived at the practice room were unaware of what was happening, but the four people whose names were called obediently walked out.
"Who is this handsome guy? He looks a little scary," a trainee with a ponytail asked curiously.
"Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask." A veteran trainee with two and a half years of experience glanced at her expressionlessly. "All you need to know is that he can make you leave JYP with just one sentence."
"Wow, that's amazing?" The newcomer's eyes widened, and his mouth formed an "O." "Is he the son of one of the company's directors?"
"He's not any board member's son." Wu Haiyuan walked up to her, stopped, and looked at the door that had closed again. "He's a board member."
"Oh my god?" The newcomer covered his mouth in surprise, his eyes wide like saucers.
The practice room fell silent for a moment, with only the faint sound of air from the air conditioner vents remaining.
Lily stood next to Wu Haiyuan. She looked around and saw that almost all the trainees who had any connection with Li Yuan—except for herself and Haiyuan—had been called out.
"So why didn't Oppa invite us out too?" Her voice carried a hint of disappointment.
"I guess it's a problem with debuting." Wu Haiyuan blinked, her eyelashes trembled slightly, and a hint of envy flashed in her eyes.
She's not JYP's top trainee yet.
Because the ace trainee at this moment was the one who walked out with Li Yuan—Huang Lizhi.
"I'm so envious, they can debut now." Lily said enviously, her gaze fixed on the doorway, as if she could see the people outside through the closed door.
I've been with JYP for three years now, and I don't know when I'll be able to debut.
At that moment, she was unaware that Lee Won had just rejected Park Jin-young's proposal for her to debut.
If she knew, I wonder what she would think.
Will you be disappointed, angry, or simply accept it quietly and continue practicing day after day?
The music in the practice room started playing again, and the girls returned to their seats, continuing to practice the moves they had done hundreds of times in front of the mirror.
