Chapter 35 Dancing is great!
Chapter 35 Dancing is great!
The next morning, we filmed. Most of the scenes were filmed in one take, especially the scenes between veteran actors, where the tension was conveyed through just a glance.
Li Yitong sometimes struggles with transitioning between emotions, but with Lin Feng's guidance, she can quickly adjust and her progress is clearly visible.
During the lunch break, the crew received boxed lunches. Lin Feng opened his lunchbox and frowned as he looked at the stir-fried vegetables, steamed fish, and white rice inside. The food in Xiamen tended to be bland, and for someone used to spicy food, it always felt a bit lacking.
I took a glass jar out of my bag, unscrewed the lid, and a tangy and spicy aroma immediately wafted out. Inside were bright red chopped chili peppers.
Li Yitong was sitting next to him, eating her boxed lunch in small bites. Hearing this, she curiously peeked out and said, "It must be spicy, right? I can smell the spiciness."
"It's tasteless if it's not spicy." Lin Feng scooped a big spoonful of chopped chili peppers and mixed it into the rice, instantly feeling a surge of appetite. "You guys eat too 'gently'."
"No, that's not it," Li Yitong retorted with a smile. "We value freshness. Look at this fish, steaming is the best way to bring out its original flavor."
As the two were talking, Lin Feng's phone rang, and the words "Xiao Tian" appeared on the screen.
"I know it's her without even looking." Lin Feng smiled helplessly and answered the video call.
"Brother Feng! Brother Feng!" Tian Xiwei's face immediately filled the screen, with her kitchen in the background. "Guess what I ate for lunch today? My mom made steamed pork with rice flour! It smelled amazing!"
"I can smell it." Lin Feng sniffed along with the camera. "Your auntie's cooking is still as good as ever."
"That's right!" Tian Xi raised her chin slightly, looking a little smug. "My mom said she was going to play mahjong after eating, so she made breakfast early today. By the way, Feng-ge, what are you having for lunch? Ordering takeout again?"
Raymond Lam pointed the camera at his lunchbox: "The lunchbox from the film crew is alright."
"Huh, why is it so bland?" Tian Xi wrinkled her nose slightly. "There's not a single chili pepper. How am I supposed to eat this?"
"I have this." Lin Feng shook the jar of chopped chili peppers in his hand. "I added some chopped chili peppers, it's alright."
"That's not enough!" Tian Xiwei immediately said, "After the May Day holiday, I'll bring you some spicy beef sauce, the super spicy kind, I guarantee it'll make your rice even better!"
"Okay, I'll wait," Lin Feng said with a smile. "Hurry up and eat, don't let it get cold."
"Okay! Feng-ge, you should eat more too!" Tian Xiwei gave a few more instructions before reluctantly hanging up the phone.
Li Yitong, who was standing next to him, looked at him and asked softly, "Is that Xiaotian?"
"Yeah, besides her, no one can talk that much." Lin Feng put his phone back in his pocket and continued eating.
Li Yitong didn't say anything more, but sighed softly to herself. This morning during filming, she intentionally or unintentionally kept her distance from Raymond Lam, not even daring to get too close during rehearsals.
"Why aren't you eating?" Lin Feng noticed that she had stopped eating.
"Oh? It's nothing," Li Yitong quickly shoveled some rice into her mouth, "I'm a little full."
Over the next two or three days, the production ran smoothly, and Raymond Lam focused more on the details, such as replacing the GG posters on the buses with stickers for "Take My Brother Away".
Li Yitong is getting better and better, but she always maintains a "safe distance" in her interactions with Raymond Lam. She doesn't avoid eye contact when acting together, but she rarely speaks to him in private. Raymond Lam noticed this, but didn't say anything.
Several nights later, Li Yitong lay in bed tossing and turning, unable to sleep, feeling as if she were being scratched by a cat.
"Why should I hide?" She sat up abruptly. "I like him, and I haven't done anything wrong. I can't always rely on myself..."
Tian Xiwei asked "Li Xue" to keep an eye on things, but she is now "Li Yitong," the female lead of "The Beginning," and a contracted artist with Fengrui Film and Television. Once this thought popped into her head, it was like unlocking a switch, instantly making her see the light.
"Yes, what does Li Xue's promise have to do with me, Li Yitong?" She patted her cheeks, a determined glint in her eyes.
After changing into a light purple yoga outfit, she looked at herself in the mirror. The outfit was form-fitting, outlining her slender waist and smooth lines—the result of her years of dance training. Taking a deep breath, she walked to Lin Feng's room and gently knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Lin Feng's voice came from inside.
"It's me, Li Yitong."
The door opened quickly, and Lin Feng, dressed in gray loungewear, paused for a moment upon seeing her attire: "So late, is something wrong?"
"Hmm," Li Yitong's heart was beating a little fast, and she tried to make her voice sound calm, "There's a scene tomorrow that I'm not quite sure I understand, and I'd like you to explain it to me."
"Come in." Lin Feng stepped aside to let her in, and as he closed the door, his gaze inadvertently swept over her back. His Adam's apple bobbed slightly; the yoga clothes really accentuated her figure.
The main lights weren't on in the room, only a floor lamp was lit. Li Yitong walked to the sofa and sat down, casually glancing around: "The script... Boss, you have it in your room, right? I forgot to bring it."
"Yes, it's on the desk." Lin Feng pointed to the desk and turned to pour water.
Li Yitong watched his retreating figure, took a deep breath, and began to silently recite the "plan" in her mind: first, ask for advice on the role, then "accidentally" bring up yoga, and finally... she bit her lip and stopped thinking about it.
Raymond Lam walked over with the script and sat down next to her: "Which scene?"
"Well..." Li Yitong opened the script, pointing to a certain page, "I feel like the emotional transitions here are a bit abrupt, from panic to pleading. How can I make it more natural?"
Lin Feng leaned closer to look at the script, and the distance between them instantly closed. He could smell the faint scent of shampoo in her hair, mixed with the freshness of a little sweat—a very unique smell.
"Try this," he said, pointing to the lines, his voice lower, "...灬".
As he spoke, he demonstrated to her, his eyes conveying a range of emotions with ease, as if he were Xiao Heyun, caught in the cycle and eager to prove himself.
Looking at his face so close to hers, Li Yitong's heart pounded faster and faster. She couldn't hear what he was saying at all. She subconsciously leaned forward, almost touching his shoulder: "So that's how it is. I understand."
Then, biting her lip, she said, "Actually... I was practicing yoga in my room just now, and there's one pose I can't seem to get right. I need someone to help me stretch it out. Boss... could you take a look?"
"What action?"
"This is it." Li Yitong walked to the open space, slowly raised one leg, placed it against the wall, and did a split. She leaned forward. "Here, my lower back just won't go down. Could you give me a push in my back?"
The light from the floor lamp shone on her, outlining her beautiful curves. Lin Feng walked over and gently placed his hands on her back, feeling the stiffness in her body.
"Relax." His voice was a little hoarse.
Li Yitong obediently relaxed her body, and with a gentle push from his hand, her body slowly pressed against the wall, and her breathing gradually became rapid.
"Are you done?"
Just as Lin Feng was about to say "Okay", Li Yitong suddenly turned around, and as if she had lost her footing, she fell straight into his arms.
"Watch out!" He instinctively reached out and supported her waist, the soft touch sending a jolt through his body like an electric current.
Li Yitong buried her face in his chest, her warm breath brushing against his skin, her voice muffled: "Thank you, boss..."
Looking down, I saw her reddened earlobes and tightly pursed lips. At the age of 20, she was full of vigor and vitality. With such a soft body pressed against her, how could she possibly resist?
Before Li Yitong could look up, he lowered his head and kissed her lips.
Li Yitong's body stiffened for a moment, then completely relaxed, tiptoed in response, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
It's unclear who took the first step back, but the two stumbled and fell onto the bed.
"Boss..." Li Yitong's voice was tinged with tears, yet also filled with longing.
……
The next morning, he moved and felt a heavy weight in his arms; Li Yitong was still asleep on his chest.
Li Yitong was awakened by a kiss. She opened her eyes groggily and saw his face so close to hers. Instantly, she remembered what happened last night, and her cheeks flushed red. She quickly buried her head in his chest and mumbled, "Good morning..."
"Good morning." Lin Feng smiled and ruffled her hair. "How are you feeling?"
"It hurts..." Li Yitong's voice was barely audible, tinged with grievance, "It's all the boss's fault."
"Yes, yes, it's all my fault." Lin Feng quickly admitted his mistake, but he was a little proud of himself. So that's how you can do the splits. It's true that his dance and yoga training was worth it.
He glanced at his watch; it was almost nine o'clock. "I'm afraid we can't film the scenes this morning. I'll have Senior Brother Zhou film the group scenes first."
"Mmm..." Li Yitong nodded, nestled in his arms, not wanting to move. The sunlight was warm, and his embrace was so comfortable that she didn't want to leave.
"Are you hungry? Shall I order some breakfast?"
"A little..."
"What would you like to eat?"
"Something light..." Li Yitong's voice was a little languid, "Porridge will do."
