Chapter 41 Suzhou, the Ruins of King Wu
Chapter 41 Suzhou, the Ruins of King Wu
12 a.m. the next day.
The express-type hovercar streaked across the sky, speeding hundreds of meters above the ground.
Jiang Feng leaned against the window and looked outside.
In just over two hours, the scenery outside changed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
First, they passed through the dilapidated and densely packed buildings in the lower city, then crossed a light blue energy barrier that separated the two districts of Lan City, and finally traversed the upper part of Lan City, entering a desolate land.
The three cities of Donglin are millions of kilometers apart, and in between lies a desolate wasteland.
In the distance of the wasteland, one could vaguely see monsters as tall as mountains slowly walking. Even though they were far away, Jiang Feng and the others could still vaguely sense the chilling aura emanating from those monsters.
"The wasteland is extremely dangerous. If it weren't for the fact that each of the three cities has a Grandmaster-level expert stationed there, Donglin would probably already be a place overrun by monsters."
Beside Jiang Feng, Sun Hao took a sip of tea and also looked over.
He asked with a smile, "First time leaving Lan City?"
Jiang Feng hummed in agreement. In all the years since he transmigrated, the farthest place he had ever been was the Upper District of Lan City.
He was still riding in an ordinary hovercar. It was only today that he realized how spectacular the energy barrier Ye Weiwei had mentioned, which covered half of Lan City, truly was.
"Hehe." Luo Feng put his arm around his neck. "With your talent, you'll always have the opportunity to develop there in the future. Don't look down on our remote and poor Lancheng then, haha."
Jiang Feng chuckled, "I hope it's really as you say."
Yuan Guannan joined in, and the group of teenagers who had never left Lancheng looked out the window with longing and began to chatter excitedly.
A day passed in the blink of an eye.
Just as Jiang Feng and his companions were getting tired of the scenery of the wasteland, a blue band of light suddenly appeared on the distant horizon, stretching across the sky and earth.
"This is..." Luo Feng exclaimed.
"Children, we're almost at Suzhou." Along the way, Sun Hao changed his usual stern demeanor and spoke in a gentle tone.
After all, this isn't Lancheng. When they're away from home, as their teacher, I naturally have to spoil them a bit.
The faster the levitation train went, the closer and brighter the light became, until finally, to the astonishment of Jiang Feng and his companions, it transformed into a gigantic hemispherical dome, like an inverted bowl, enveloping the entire city below.
"Unlike the energy shield in our Lan City, the protection in Su City is made of a piece of ultra-high-specification alloy glass material," Sun Hao's voice rang out.
"It is said that this was left by the Grandmaster of Su City, the former city lord who has gone to the Imperial Star to take up his post. It is indestructible and can keep out all pollution and aliens."
Fang Xiao, who had been silent the whole way, asked in confusion, "Teacher Sun, do you mean the same thing as 'Grandmaster' and 'Great Grandmaster'?"
"Of course not." Sun Hao shook his head. "A Grandmaster is a Grandmaster, and a Great Grandmaster is above that. In the path of martial arts, this realm has another name, called..."
He stopped halfway through his sentence, and just as everyone was puzzled, Sun Hao pointed in a distant direction.
Jiang Feng and the others followed suit.
They suddenly noticed that, dozens of kilometers to the left of the train, deep in the wilderness, stood a cluster of black buildings that emitted a gray mist and stood out from the surroundings!
From a distance, Jiang Feng couldn't see the specific details of the building complex, but a dilapidated tower that was a hundred meters tall caught his attention.
The tower was extremely tall, its top almost touching the route they were traveling on. Faint martial arts runes were inscribed all over it. Even from a distance of tens of kilometers, Jiang Feng could feel a powerful martial arts pressure, like waves crashing against the shore.
"King Wu".
Sun Hao's voice slowly rang out. These two simple words were not sharp, but they were as heavy as a mountain, as if they carried the kingly aura that had lasted for thousands of years, making the surrounding air seem to freeze.
"The Grandmaster realm is also known as the Martial King realm."
"That black complex you see is the place where we will represent the 13th Middle School in the future battle; it is... the Ruins of King Wu!"
Sun Hao's voice slammed down, and amidst the gasps of shock from the crowd, the train roared past, and the ruins of King Wu quickly disappeared into the gray fog.
.........
More than 30 minutes later, the train arrived at the station.
After getting off the car, Jiang Feng, who had recovered from the shock, said, "Teacher Sun, you should go to your accommodation first. I'll meet up with you later."
"Okay." Sun Hao nodded. Jiang Feng had told him about Ye Weiwei beforehand, and he instructed him, "Be careful in this unfamiliar place."
"it is good."
After saying goodbye to Jiang Feng, Sun Hao and the others headed towards the exit, but before they could take a few steps, they all stopped.
Before them stood Lin Lu, dressed in sportswear, quietly waiting with her luggage.
"Lin Lu, what brings you here?" Fang Xiao's gloomy face immediately brightened.
Lin Lu rolled her eyes at him, then looked at Sun Hao beside them, and asked in confusion,
"Didn't Teacher Sun tell you? One of the investors in the exhibition you're going to attend this time... is my family."
Everyone was speechless.
.........
Jiang Feng's side----
Squeezing into the bustling crowd, he spotted the girl with the jellyfish-shaped haircut in the middle of the crowd at a glance.
"Sister Ye Wei!" He ran over quickly.
Upon hearing that all-too-familiar voice, the girl turned around abruptly.
Her features were exquisitely perfect; her deep brown eyes were as serene as obsidian, like a calm lake. Her nose was small and rounded, and her lips were a pale pink. Her long, black hair, braided into pigtails, was swept back, with a few stray strands clinging to her forehead, highlighting her bright and clear features.
Today she was wearing a white uniform from Suzhou University. Her full chest accentuated her curves, drawing admiring glances from passersby. Beneath the pleated skirt, her shapely legs were completely encased in black stockings, straight and long. She wore black leather shoes.
"Jiang Feng!" Ye Weiwei noticed him too, and quickly stepped forward in her leather shoes, taking his luggage from him.
"You've really become a martial artist!" Upon seeing the boy she hadn't seen in so long, her eyes crinkled and her smile deepened.
"Why would I lie to you?" Jiang Feng snatched the luggage. "Have you eaten?"
"Not yet, we've been waiting for you ever since you texted us saying you were coming." Ye Weiwei said, touching Jiang Feng's arm with a hint of heartache.
"Why do you seem thinner now that you've become a martial artist? Remember to use the money I transfer to you every month. If you need more, just tell me. Now that you're a martial artist, your expenses will definitely increase..."
Ye Weiwei kept chattering in Jiang Feng's ear. He smiled and carried his luggage, following her through the crowd towards Suzhou University.
