Chapter 5 Reporter Surround 3
Chapter 5 Reporter Surround 3
There were bruises on her neck.
The doctor suggested two more IV drips, which Huang Min felt was unnecessary, but his sister Huang Yun insisted that he get them, so Huang Min reluctantly accepted. He didn't have a sister in his previous life.
Now there's suddenly one more.
It feels pretty good.
To live in this world, one needs someone to rely on. Either one relies on others, or others rely on one. And with someone to rely on, life will have many more emotional support.
It was past nine in the morning when the IV drip was finished. The sunlight outside was getting stronger, and the hospital was bustling with activity. Even through the ward, you could hear voices and footsteps coming from the corridor outside.
Huang Yun quickly packed up the things she needed to take back from the ward.
There wasn't much stuff; it was mainly what she bought at the supermarket downstairs in the hospital after her older brother woke up yesterday. She also packed her meals from restaurants and breakfast shops near the hospital last night and this morning to take home.
After packing her things, Huang Yun handed a face mask to her older brother.
Huang Min smiled, took the mask, and asked, "Do you want me to carry these things?"
"The eldest brother is like a father!"
Huang Yun mimicked her elder brother's tone and then smiled, "As a daughter, how could I dare to trouble my father?"
"Then take it."
Huang Min didn't stand on ceremony any further.
Anyway, it wasn't serious. After leaving the ward, the two went to the lobby on the first floor of the inpatient department. Huang Min stood aside watching his sister process his discharge and settlement procedures. After it was finished, Huang Yun waved the total hospital bill in her hand to her older brother and said in a slightly complaining and exaggerated tone, "It's too expensive. It only took two days and we spent more than 10,000 yuan. We were admitted to the ICU first, and then transferred to a VIP ward for one night. We even had two IV drips this morning..."
As she spoke, Huang Yun paused, then solemnly reminded him, "Brother, do you see how expensive hospitals are now? From now on, we should avoid going to the hospital if possible. This place is like a slaughterhouse now; they slaughter everyone who comes in."
"hehe"
Huang Min chuckled to himself.
"Say something!"
Huang Yun urged.
"I do wish I could avoid going to the hospital in the future, but these things aren't something your brother can decide on his own."
Huang Min smiled and nodded, saying, "Alright! Your older brother promised you he wouldn't do anything foolish again. He already promised you yesterday, and he said it again today." Pointing to his neck, Huang Min continued, "You don't need to remind me again and again. Your older brother's neck still hurts! Yesterday was Wednesday, I think. He should have been at school. Why did he suddenly decide to run home?!"
"I've been feeling uneasy ever since my sister-in-law slandered you. Yesterday at noon at school, I suddenly felt very anxious."
now.
Recalling the incident, Huang Yun still felt a lingering fear: "It just so happened that a while ago, a girl at our school was dumped by her boyfriend and committed suicide because she couldn't bear it. When I thought about that, I panicked even more, so I asked the teacher for leave and went home..."
Sensing his sister's emotions rising again and her eyes reddening, Huang Min patted her shoulder. "It's alright, isn't it? You're still my savior, really. Luckily, you're my sister. If it were any other girl, I might have even offered myself to her. If she were as pretty as you, I wouldn't mind accepting her. But if she were short, ugly, and dark-skinned, I'd be in real trouble."
"If you didn't marry someone like my sister-in-law, you wouldn't have to go through all this if you married someone short, ugly, and dark-skinned."
Hearing her older brother say that, Huang Yun, whose nose was already starting to sting and she was about to cry again, couldn't help but laugh. Then she said irritably, "You're not allowed to marry someone in the entertainment industry in the future. There isn't a single good woman among them."
"You're in charge."
Huang Min readily agreed.
Stepping out of the inpatient department, Huang Min felt as if he had been given a new lease on life.
The surrounding green belt is planted with many trees, and birdsong can be heard from the branches. Even though the temperature in the hospital's VIP ward is comfortable, it is not as comfortable as basking in the spring sunshine. Even the air is fresh and has a faint fragrance of flowers.
It's a very strange feeling.
It was clearly not him who hanged himself.
Yet this feeling is real and vivid, as if it comes straight from the heart.
A warm breeze brushed against his cheeks. Noticing several reporters loitering at the west gate of the inpatient department, Huang Min reached out and pulled up the mask covering his face.
Perhaps it was his physique and high recognizability that allowed him to be recognized by reporters even while wearing a mask. As the passersby cast questioning glances, several people gathered around him.
He realized he couldn't escape it any longer.
Huang Min decisively took off his mask and handed it to his sister: "Put it on." Huang Yun took it and obediently put it on her face. She was both nervous and worried.
Before anyone could ask, Huang Min pulled his sister behind him and then spoke first: "Just ask me any questions you have. This is my sister."
The reporter, who had initially intended to ask if the woman next to Huang Min was his new girlfriend, immediately abandoned the question and shoved the microphone in Huang Min's face, saying, "Huang Min, you've been discharged from the hospital!?"
"Um"
Huang Min nodded.
"Why don't you publicly address your ex-wife's accusations that you are a gambling addict, frequently travel to Macau, neglect your family, and beat your children whenever you return?!"
A reporter asked.
"Would my explanation have been of any use!?"
Huang Min countered with a question, then looked directly at the reporters surrounding him and said, "Or will you reporters help me clarify things after I explain?"
Before the reporter could answer, Huang Min continued, "You all think that Lin Wan is my ex-wife, and since she has such a good public image, even she has come forward to accuse me of so many crimes, so it must be my problem. Therefore, you won't bother to distinguish whether I am being wronged or not, and you won't care whether I was stabbed in the back by my former spouse..."
"Not only do we feel this way, but all the audience..."
Huang Min interrupted another reporter, saying, "All viewers, please don't say that. Many people in this society have a herd mentality. They follow what others do and listen to what others say. It's like investing in stocks. Seventy percent of stock investors lose money, twenty percent break even, and only ten percent make money. Why do ten percent make money? Because they are rational, they don't follow the crowd, and they don't listen to what others say. We've been taught since childhood that 'truth is in the hands of the minority.' So I won't explain anything, and I don't have the ability to do so."
Faced with Huang Min's unusually gentle and kind personality, even though there were several reporters on their side, they were somewhat unable to withstand Huang Min's barrage of attacks.
